Bowling Score Calculator
Score a ten-pin game from its marks, frame by frame, with running totals.
Enter the balls of a ten-pin game and read off every frame score and running total, the way a bowling alley scoresheet shows them. Spaces between frames are optional, so X X 6/ and XX6/ are the same game.
How it works
Marks: X is a strike, / is a spare, - or 0 is a miss, F is a foul (scored as 0), and a digit is the number of pins knocked down. With Pin counts, type the pins for each ball as numbers, with 10 for a strike.
An open frame scores the pins it knocked down. A spare scores 10 plus the next ball. A strike scores 10 plus the next two balls, which is why a strike's frame stays blank until those balls are known. The 10th frame gives a bonus ball after a strike or spare, so it can hold three balls, and it scores just the pins in it.
A perfect game is twelve strikes in a row for 300. The running total after each frame is what a scoresheet prints under the frame, and the last one is the final score.
